UBS Global Allocation Trust and UBS Total Return Trust announce results of special meetings of unitholders
TORONTO, May 16 /CNW/ - UBS Global Asset Management (Canada) Co., as
manager of both UBS Global Allocation Trust ("GAT") and UBS Total Return Trust
("UTR") (collectively, the "Funds") has announced that at special meetings of
the unitholders of each of the Funds held on May 15, 2008, unitholders
approved all of the special resolutions presented to them. In particular, the
unitholders of UTR approved the merger of UTR into the GAT. Under the proposed
merger, the portfolio of UTR will be combined with that of GAT and UTR
unitholders will receive units of GAT on a tax-deferred rollover basis in
exchange for their units of UTR based on the respective net asset values of
UTR and GAT on the merger date, scheduled to occur on or about June 10, 2008.
In addition, unitholders of GAT approved the expansion and optimization of the
guidelines for GAT.
