Matrikon announces changes to executive team
EDMONTON, AB, Oct. 13 /CNW/ - Matrikon Inc. (TSX:MTK) is pleased to
announce several changes to its senior management team that will position the
company to achieve growth objectives aligned with its long term strategy. The
changes also address critical areas of concern - profitability within
Matrikon's service business and building a strong human resources
infrastructure.
- Shafin U. Kanji has been appointed to the newly created position of
Executive Vice President of Operations. Shafin's experience as
Matrikon's Chief Financial Officer and a member of the senior
management team makes him well suited for this new role. Shafin will
be responsible for overseeing Matrikon's services business, ensuring
overall services profitability and growth effective November 1, 2004.
- Nimal Rodrigo has joined Matrikon and will become Chief Financial
Officer effective November 1, 2004, pending TSX and board approval.
Nimal is a veteran financial executive in the software industry with
a successful track record of strategic financial management,
acquisitions and business integration. Most recently, Nimal served as
Chief Financial Officer and Vice President Finance of Intuit Canada
Limited, a market leading financial software company, and as Director
of Finance of Intuit's UK operations.
- Floyd Bjorgan returns to the head office as Vice President Human
Resources and Administration. Floyd most recently served as the
Managing Director of Matrikon's Australian operations. Floyd's focus
will be on maintaining a strong culture as Matrikon grows, both
geographically and in size.
- Sam Crisafulli has assumed the role of Managing Director for
Australian operations. Sam brings a wealth of experience to this
position, having held senior positions within Hunter Control as well
as UNAC, both of which now form part of Matrikon's operations in
Australia.
